Good morning everyone! Let me introduce you to some of my newest plants (though technically not yet plants as they are cuttings!). My mum kindly let me siphon off from her lovely plant collection and I am now propagating a few different cuttings including a Painted Leaf Begonia, a Tradescantia Sillamontana and a Jade plant. I need to work out their exact plant names/variety – if anyone knows, let me know in the comments.
I’m not going to do my usual introduction as I will do that when they are more fully formed (fingers crossed). However I will talk you through how I am propagating them.
So my mum took leaf cuttings of the three plants and when I got them home, I had them in water for a little bit but then I decided to go ahead and plant them in soil. I am not yet sure if that has fully worked yet but they seem to be doing well. I used rooting hormone to give them a bit of a kick and then just planted them in a mix of soil and growing medium.
They are such beautiful plants when fully grown so I can’t wait to see them in full effect! The Painted Leaf Begonia is simply stunning to look at it, such unusual colours and I’ve been needing a new Jade Plant since my last one died :(. The Tradescantia is another unique looking plant one, I love the furry leaves!
Do you have any tips for successful propagation of these plants?

I think you doing the right thing, so long as place them in bright sunny position, they will do well. Good luck
